California High Speed Rail Project

Performance Utility Supply has been hard at work delivering a ton of materials all over California’s Central Valley. The materials are going to our friends at Valverde Construction and although the demand for construction materials has been much higher than the supply, PUS has been able to perform and keep the Valverde Crew busy with what they need to get the job done. The Valverde crew currently have their hands full installing HDPE pipe and Tier 22 Polymer boxes for underground utilities on the high profile and highly controversial California High-Speed Rail project.

California High-Speed Rail

The California high-speed rail is a massive project that will connect the mega-regions of the state, contribute to economic development and a cleaner environment, create jobs, and preserve agricultural and protected lands. The system will run from San Francisco to the Los Angeles basin in under three hours at speeds capable of over 200 miles per hour. The system will eventually extend to Sacramento and San Diego, totaling 800 miles with up to 24 stations throughout. The California High-Speed Rail Authority

The controversy surrounding the high-speed rail project is nothing new in the world of construction. Every big infrastructure project goes through some sort of controversial episode during its construction. In the case of the CHSR, it has been going on for a long long time. Since 2008, the high-speed rail project has stoked the nerves of California taxpayers and that much time passing has given the rail’s critics a chance to multiply exponentially, each having their own reason to condemn the project. Nevertheless, the project is moving forward and is starting to gain favor with those involved. Investing in the country’s infrastructure is almost never a misfire regardless of the size of scope and budget. Hopefully, time will tell the story of a high-speed rail that changed the face of Central California for the better and Performance Utility Supply can say that they had a chance to participate in making that change happen.

How are we helping?

The Valverde team is currently working within the 119-mile section of the rail system between Bakersfield to Madera, CA. A few stations will exist within that section of rail and of course, those stations are going to need underground utility systems. That’s where Performance Utility Supply has been able to help.
